Water Bingo
Directions:
Ask each classmate, one at a time, one question from the statements in the squares below. Example: Can you convert mg/L to parts per million? If one says he/she knows the answer, put his/her name in the square that relates to that question. Do not ask for the answer. A person's name can be used in only one square. When you have five names in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally), call out BINGO!
Each square has something like: knows the source of the water in Pyramid Lake, knows what mitigation means, knows the difference between recycling and reclaiming water, has water skiied, has drought-tolerant plants at home, has visited a wastewater treatment plant, etc.
When "Bingo" is called, students whose names appear in the row are challenged to explain, describe, etc. The first person to "Bingo" and pass the challenge receives a water badge, pencil, or the like. Not only do students meet each other, but I gain some information about their background knowledge.
